Fall is FINALLY here!

(Me feeding Samantha while Maggie is posing for the picture!)

(Fall baby!)

Just yesterday I was telling my dad I was going to hold off on giving Samantha rice cereal but I couldn't resist the urge. So last night I tried, unsuccessfully, to give her some rice cereal on a spoon. I have learned my lesson and will wait a little while before I try it again!

It has been chilly here lately; Fall is officially here. I got Samantha some long sleeved onsies yesterday and am excited to start dressing her in warmer clothes. She looked super cute today so I had to take her picture!

The Shack

I am HIGHLY recommending The Shack to everyone who is looking for a great book to read. This book really touched a deep place in me that I was not expecting. I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I did!

Bumbo!

(Really enjoying her BUMBO!!!)

(Looking a little double-chin-ish!)

Here are a couple pictures of Samantha from the other night in her Bumbo! I cannot believe she is already big enough to be sitting in a seat like this. Since June 11th my life has just not been the same. I was telling someone at work today that I am just a much happier person. Being a mother is really the most amazing job in the world. Samantha brings so much joy to my life. I feel like it was just yesterday that Jeff and I were heading off to the hospital to have Samantha and now she is sitting in her Bumbo seat all by herself! She is talking on a very frequent basis now, I think it is a girl thing! And she LOVES to smile. I think her cheeks must hurt sometimes from all the smiling. And she is a thumb sucker...she loves to slurp away at her thumb! I try sometimes to give her a paci instead and she spits it right out...much preferring her thumb. I guess what I am trying to say is that I have an amazing daughter that makes me one happy mama!

Jimbo's 65th Birthday!

Today I took Samantha to Libby's work to show off to all her work friends! It was really neat seeing the pride in her face as she showed off my daughter. Then after show-and-tell we went to Logan's for lunch and Jimbo joined us! Today is his 65th birthday!!!

Papa Time

Unfortunately Lauren has officially returned to work. Her schedule has changed and part of her new work schedule is working the overnight shift on Friday and Saturday night. Last night was the first night. I got home from work around 5:30 and we ate dinner and Lauren went to bed. I took Samantha to Easton Mall to run some errands. It was interesting changing a disgustingly dirty diaper in the backseat of the car in between stores... We returned home around 8pm and Samantha had a bottle and was in a very good mood. Lately she has been going to sleep between 8:30-9:30 and pretty much sleeping through the night. Well, she didn't want to go to sleep last night. I am sure she just wanted to spend more time with her Papa. She fell asleep around 10pm, I went to bed at 10:15. Lauren had to get up at 10:45 to get ready for work. I finally fell asleep around 11:30 or so. Samantha woke up this morning at 6:30 and I changed her diaper and fed her a bottle. She went back to sleep. I got up around 9am and worked out while she was sleeping. Lauren got home around 10am. Part of our anniversary celebration was a couples massage so Bob (Lauren's Dad) came over around 11:30 to babysit. The massages were awesome and we got home around 2pm. Lauren had to go to bed to be rested for work tonight. Samantha took a nap with Lauren from around 3-4pm. I brought her down with me at 4 and she watched football with me. She fell asleep again around 5pm. I did too... I woke up around 5:45 and she slept until 6:15 or so. She woke up and ate another bottle. I just finished giving her a bath and it's the first time I have done that alone. I am sure there will be more "Daddy Firsts" in the near future. She is laying on her play mat now on the floor just smiling and laughing. It's about 10 mins until kickoff for OSU and USC so I hope she enjoys watching the game with me...GO BUCKS!!!

Grandpa time!

Today my dad came over to babysit Samantha so that Jeff and I could go have a couples massage! When Samantha was born my dad got us a gift card to Charles Penzone so we took full advantage of that today for massages! It was VERY relaxing and something fun for Jeff and I to do together! So THANKS dad for the gift card and for babysitting.

Samantha is 3 months old today!

The blanket that she is laying on was made for Samantha by one of Libby's co-workers, Mo. Very cute!

Sleeping girl...a lazy day for both mother and daughter!

Today Samantha and I wanted to have a lazy day. So we slept in and took naps and just generally lounged around the house. When she took naps, I was able to get some things done around the house. But overall, we just had a great day of doing nothing together!

Kate "soon-to-be" Seegraves Wedding Shower

(Kate opening her gifts!)
(Samantha is mid-yawn.)

(Aunt and Niece bonding over a bottle!)

Yesterday Mom, Mandy, Samantha, Aunt Vikki and I went to Kate Lahones wedding shower. We had to leave church about 15 minutes early and went and picked up Mandy at work. We got a little lost close to Springfield but were only about 10 minutes late. Samantha was a doll and in a great mood at the shower! My back really started to hurt at the shower and I took some medicine but even now, a day later, I am still in a lot of pain. I am hoping it will be gone by the time I wake up tomorrow! Congrats to Kate and Chris on their impending marriage!

Happy 28th Birthday to me!

(Grady holding Samantha this morning!)

(Jeff and I after our wonderful meal.)

Today is my 28th birthday! I feel so old! This morning Mandy brought Grady over for me to babysit while she went to the doctor. He is so sweet in the morning. For the first 45 minutes he stood at the back door watching the dogs. Then, once Samantha woke up, he wanted to "hold" her. He would point to Samantha and say, "hold hold hold". When I said ok, he literally ran to the couch and sat down waiting for me to bring her to him. He is so sweet with her. Then tonight I took Samantha over to Nick and Mandy's so that Jeff and I could go have a nice dinner to celebrate our 2 year anniversary. We went to Smith and Wollenskys at Easton and had an awesome meal. However we both over ate! My dad had gotten us a gift card when Samantha was born so we took advantage of it! While we always miss Samantha when we are not with her it was really nice to get to spend some alone time with my husband!

Amish Country (Holmes County, Ohio)

(Samantha in her Amish bonnet.)

(Samantha watching Grady...a great source of entertainment for her.)

(Reading to Samantha...she seemed totally into it!)

(At Hersbergers in front of the REALLY big horse.)

(Grady and Mandy looking at the goats!)

(Mom and Samantha... see the pig?)

Last night, on my 2 year anniversary, I went to Amish Country with Mom, Mandy, Grady and Samantha. We stayed at the Comfort Inn in Sugar Creek. Mandy and I shared a room with Grady and Samantha and my mom stayed in the room next door to us. We visited the animals and ate some really great food! Mom is in her element in Amish Country...she loves all the animals and crafts. I hope Samantha develops the same love of animals that my mom and I have.
