This isn't so hard (Samantha's first blog)

I don't know exactly what a blog is but I always hear Mom and Dad talking about it. They say things like "we have to put that picture on the blog", or "I just updated the blog, check it out". So, I decided to see what all the fuss is about. Apparently this is a way to tell people what's going on in your life and to share pictures. Pretty Cool.

I had the most stressful day today. I woke up from a deep sleep at 6am with a wet diaper. Then, I started asking for a new diaper and maybe some food but Mom and Dad were way too busy getting ready for work and they made me wait a whole 5 minutes! Can you believe that? How do you think they would like sitting around in their own pee??? Then, the bald one comes in, flicks the light on and stands over my bed saying good morning like I'm deaf or something. Dude, I can hear you...you're 2 feet from my face and it's only 6am!
Then, it was off to Kathy's (my babysitter). She's nice and she likes me a lot. I had a bottle there and then got sleepy and took a long nap. Took a massive dump and then I felt like a million bucks. I then just hung out a bit, watched some TV and practiced my walking skills. The boys kept pulling my hair and I tried telling them I could squash them with my right leg, but again...who listens to me? Mom came early to pick me up and that was a surprise. But the excitement wore of quickly and I fell asleep in the car on the way home. I was able to catch an hour nap before I was ready for all the excitement going on outside my bedroom door. But it took mom too long to get me and then she wanted me to "blow blow blow" my nose and I was all like...hey lady, that hurts. But she wanted it clean nonetheless. So I tried explaining to her how upset it makes me when she makes me blow my nose but I swear she just looks at me like I am babbling and crying and making no sense at all.
When Dad came home; Mom and I sat out back for a bit while Dad cut the grass. He kept waving at me but I didn't wave back. Again, really...I see you, I know you're there...why the constant waving?? The cool thing about being outside though is that there are all these new things to taste. Today I tried grass, dandelion, twig and leaf although I really prefer the grass to all the others. AND the way the grass feels on my bare feet is so neat....mom even put blades of grass between all my toes.
Right when Dad was done with the grass he came in and said something about Buckeye. Now I may be little but when ever I hear them talk about Buckeye they get all mad and start waving their hands all around. So I knew that little annoying dog had done something to upset my parents. My Dad put me on his shoulders and we all went outside. Mom kept whistling then saying something under her breath about hoping he never comes back...not sure what that was all about...but then Buckeye came running down the road and we all walked back home.

Fast forward to later and me and the folks are just playing in the living room. I kept pushing on Dad's belly and he would cry in pain...not sure why I thought this was so funny but it actually held my attention for about 10 minutes. At the end of the day I really love these guys...they always take care of me, always tell me they love me and always tell me I am the best, most beautiful baby in the world. I don't know if that's true but I will not tell them otherwise. Above, are the pictures of me writing this. I know, I'm advanced!!!

Random pictures from the past week...my most used blog post title.

Samantha and I all dressed up for church. Yea, I know she is alot cuter than me but my hair just won't stick up like hers does.

Looking like a tennis pro! Ralph Lauren makes the cutest little girl clothes.
Samantha playing in the curtains...she is SUCH a morning baby. I can assure you she does not get this trait from her momma!

Strawberry filling lipstick baby...

Samantha has been sick for about 2 weeks and then Lauren got sick and finally myself. I had a fever and didn't work yesterday and then Lauren had a fever last night and didn't work last night. While we're both feeling pretty terrible, Lauren not working last night meant we had the day to be together as a family. We went to Frisch's for breakfast. Below are pictures of Samantha eating bananas covered w/ strawberry filling. Why would I be surprised she loved it...bananas w/ a sugar filled fruit substitute...

Samantha's first popsicle.

Today Jeff stayed home sick from work. We have both caught whatever Samantha had and is still recovering from. So today Samantha went to the baby sitter because I had to go close on our house. The really crazy thing is my mom called me when she was on her way over to go to closing and I was dead asleep...it was 11:05 AM! And to make it worse, I went to bed at 9 PM last night. This cold is really taking it's toll on me, I can only imagine what Samantha went thru.
I went to pick Samantha up at 4:30 PM today and since it was so warm I was letting her hang out in her diaper. But it got full so I changed her and left her naked for a little bit. (The doctor said it would be a good thing to do when it is warm outside to keep her from getting diaper rash.) So we were playing with her on the couch and I was eating a popsicle...helps my sore throat and Samantha seemed really interested. So I got her one too. We put a bib on her because I knew she would make a huge mess. And it was so cute seeing her sit there eating her popsicle naked except for a bib!

Take me out to the ball game...

Today my mom, Samantha and I went to the Columbus Clippers game. I got some free tickets from Columbia Gas, plus a parking pass. I had no clue how great our seats would be but they were really nice. And the parking could not have been any closer!
Here is Samantha and I in our really great seats. The weather was really nice too. It was sunny with a slight breeze so it was not too hot.

Here is Samantha and I posing with Louseal, the Clippers mascot, it's a huge bobble head!

I held Samantha up for this picture. I think it is so funny that she is on a man's body. She will hate me for this one day ;)

Mom and Samantha playing on the picnic tables.

This was a bronze baseball mitt and baseball bat and ball. It was a perfect picture op!

Samantha sitting in the mitt like a big girl.

Here is Samantha standing up at the seats. She loves all the new sights and sounds.

Columbia Gas must have been a contributor to get their name on the field posts!

Here is the view from our seats. We were only 12 rows up from the field.

The new Columbus Clippers stadium.

Here we are when we first got there and were getting settled. I just put Samantha's whole stroller on my lap until we got all our bags and things situated. Good thing we had 4 seats because we had a lot of stuff!

Mawmaw came over for a visit.

Tonight, my Mom came over to visit with us (I am sure she just really wanted to see Samantha, and that's okay). We were just finishing bath time so Mom was able to watch us get her dried off and dressed. She then held her and played a bit. Samantha showed off her walking skills (attempts to walk anyway). Mom then fed Samantha her last bottle before bed. Lauren went in at the end and put Samantha in her crib. Of course, as usual Samantha cried for just a bit and my Mom doesn't get how we walk away. We always tell her that she will be fine and she's a tough little girl and she knows the routine. I guess it's harder for the grandparents...

This picture below was taken sitting at a red light on the way home from the babysitter tonight. While I don't think you can make it out on the picture, trust me...she has some wicked dried snot under her nose... Our little girl is hopefully just starting to get over the cold she has had for the last week. I for one always thought I would be less phased by a sick child. It's just a way a life and that's how it goes. However, my little baby has been so pitiful this last week but has been such a trooper. It has really been hard seeing her suffer. I guess if the occasional cold is all we have to deal with, we will be very blessed.

My baby is sick...

Yesterday I noticed that Samantha's nose was running. But she is teething so I figured it was just a by-product of that. Then last night she started coughing too. When Jeff and I went to bed we could hear her cough through the walls. But she seemed to sleep ok and was her usual happy self this morning. She was still coughing and had a runny nose but she was in a good mood and it seemed to just all be a part of teething. So Jeff dropped her off at the babysitter as usual and we both went off to work. Then at 2 PM the babysitter called and said she was not wanting to eat anything and was running a fever. They gave her some tylenol but wanted us to come and pick her up. So I left work and rushed over there. When I got her home I took her tempature and it was 99.5 degrees. So I made up some pedialyte and tried to get her to drink some. She only drank 1 oz and then she played for a while on the floor. She was in a very mellow mood. She was just sitting on my lap watching tv. Then I put her down for a nap around 3:30 PM. She slept until 5:20ish and woke up full of snot. I did that bulb thing on her nose and it was just full! I know she must be so miserable.
From 5:20ish to 7:30 she was in a fairly good mood. She was playing on the floor with her toys and also crawling over to me to be held. We managed to get her to drink 3 more ounces of the pedialyte and some eggs for dinner. I took her tempature again and it is up to 100.8 degrees. So I gave her a little more tylenol and a bottle. She is sleeping now and I am really hoping she does not have a fever in the morning. I am not use to my playful baby cuddling so much and just wanting to be held. I am dying to see her smile and be healthy again. Keep her in your prayers.
