Siesta Key Vacation

Our first flight to Florida left Columbus @ 6:25 AM so Jeff and I had to get up at 4:30 AM to get everything all ready. My best friend from high school came to pick us up at 5 AM...Thank you Amanda! Here is our bright eyed baby and her still sleepy daddy.

I managed to put makeup on and even do Samantha's hair, but I am definitely not a morning person.

Miss Samantha on our flight to Atlanta.

I took a picture with Samantha at this exact location one year ago. So Jeff took a turn at the now infamous news stand.

After we had a quick lunch in the Atlanta airport Samantha fell asleep in her stroller. Although I would have preferred her to sleep on the actual flight...guess I shouldn't be so picky.

Our first day there was pretty uneventful...we played at the pool, went to dinner, then went grocery shopping. By the next morning we were more than ready to head to the beach. Here is Samantha and I on that first morning.

Samantha loved the water but she fell down a lot...she is still just a budding walker.

She really enjoyed playing with Grady in the sand!

Can you believe how perfect this beach is??? White sand and blue water...couldn't ask for anything more! (Not to mention, Siesta Key Beach is #1 in the continental US)

The waves washed up sand and buried Samantha's foot. I think she was trying to figure out where it went?!?!

One night went out to dinner at this place called Sonny's. We met up with all my family that had come in from Ohio, but were staying in Englewood, Fla so it was like a small family reunion. Samantha liked playing outside in the rocks more than eating her dinner.

A random, but really cute picture of Chase.

Samantha and Chase playing on the floor.

My mom bought this little kids table with 4 chairs. And surprisingly Samantha sat there for most of her meals like a big kid.

Grady really loved Samantha this trip. And he has officially put her name together...first it was Sam...then Mantha...and now it is SAMANTHA. What a big word for such a little boy. He spent a lot of time with her...even when she was not really in the mood. But she did love him pushing around the house on this little train.

Mom had a couple big boxes in her room so I put these two in there to play and they both loved it. Grady kept saying "big box, big box" to me. After Samantha got bored with it I took her out and closed up Grady and dragged him all the way to his parents room so he could pop out...he thought this was just the greatest.

Samantha loves kitchen cabinets...at home they are baby proofed and she cannot play in them, so this was a treat she enjoyed exploring.

Ornery.

Nick is uber anal about his boys being clean, so one day I tossed Samantha in with his boys. Apparently Chase was really stinky so the other 2 kept their distance!

Mom and Samantha in the beautiful pool.

My super cute family.

My little fish... Samantha loved the water and she would jump right in. We had to ALWAYS keep our eyes on her when we were out by the pool since she was braver than she should have been!

Mom bought all the kids life jackets for boat rides and we decided to put one on Samantha in the pool. I thought she would be able to actually swim around with this on, but the thing would just lay her out flat on her back. I do think that this thing would keep her afloat if she went overboard.

I put these goggles on Samantha just to take a really cute picture...and I succeeded ;)

Seeing green? My favorite family photo of the trip.

One night Mandy and I were both getting ready for dinner in the bathroom so I brought Samantha in to join us. She loved sitting there and playing with my makeup bag...can we say girlie girl?

All the family... Mom, Nick, Mandy, Grady, Chase, Vikki, Larry, Cindy, Charlie, Jeff, Samantha and I rented a boat one day. Mandy, Jeff and I stayed back with the kids while everyone else went to pick up the boat. They drove the boat thru the canal system and pick the rest of us up right from my mom's dock. It was pretty cool getting picked up right at her house on a boat.

Lounging on the boat.

Samantha getting her hair blown out by the wind!

Samantha wanted to help Uncle Nick drive the boat...

Grady also wanted to help drive...

The whole reason we all went to Florida this week was to surprise my Great Uncle Dick and Great Aunt Mary Lou for their 60th wedding anniversary. Here they were walking into the church totally surprised.

We had all the kids matching for the party...too cute, I know.

Siblings and in-laws. I love the fact that we get along so well and have so much fun hanging out together!

The girls, plus Chase!

My mom bought this t-shirt for Samantha and Jeff couldn't love it anymore. This is such a great Father / Daughter picture.

I had to take my turn posing with Samantha in her "too cool" t-shirt.

After Nick and Mandy left with their boys we went to lunch at Turtles on the Intercoastal. We even sat outside in the shade with a nice breeze going.

We walked down the dock to dip Samantha in the water to cool her off. Too bad she didn't want to get out after she realized how much fun it was!

There was a long wall of windows at Turtles and Samantha loved checking herself out. She would even lean in for a kiss! See the smudges on the glass???

A really cute picture of Samantha in the car.

My mom bought these dresses for all three of us last Christmas. She has been dying for us to wear them together. So I finally relented, since I was so far from home, and we all wore them out to lunch. Everyone made fun of us, but my mom really enjoyed it.

Couldn't just take one embarasing picture...had to make a whole photo shoot out of it.
