(Samantha all ready for the beach!)
(Our family at Lucky Snappers with the ocean in the background.)
Yesterday Jeff, Samantha and I left for Florida with all the Hauser family. In total, there are 12 of us, including Samantha. We all met at Jim and Libby's at 7:30 AM and were on the road by 8:10 AM. Jeff, Samantha and I rode in Jeff's car and also had Jessica and Joe with us. We stopped for breakfast at McDonald's in Jeffersonville. It basically down poured from Cincinnati to Montgomery. There were a ton of very bad accidents along our route and we frequently got stuck in bumper-to-bumper traffic. It was about 10:45 PM by the time we checked into our hotel. We unloaded all the stuff and attempted to put Samantha to bed...she was so out of whack from the car trip that she was up until almost 1:00 AM.
We slept in until about 7 AM this morning and ate breakfast at Waffle House in Montgomery,AL. It only took us about 4 hours to get to Ft. Walton Beach. It is so beautiful here! We are on the top floor of a condo building and our balcony looks right over the ocean. I cannot believe we are finally here! We all got into our bathing suits right away and went down to the beach. The waves were really big and we had a good time diving into them! Samantha was all decked out in her swim wear and sunscreen too! Then we went up to the condo pool and were able to get Samantha in the water. She loved it and was actually kicking her legs in the water! I think she is going to be a water baby just like her mommy;)
Tonight we went out to dinner at Lucky Snapper which is right on the ocean. Talk about a great start to our vacation!
