Pool Day

Today, I took Samantha to the New Albany pool after work. Nick, Mandy and the boys were already there so as soon as we walked in to the zero depth pool Samantha was so excited. But I should back up. When I picked up Samantha from the babysitter, I asked her if she wanted to go swimming. Then entire way home, she said "swimming" "fun" "exciting" "pool". Needless to say...she LOVES swimming. She was all over the place in the pool, down the slide, back up the climbing area, back down the slide, under the water, jumping off the side of the big pool. So within minutes of being in the car she was sucking her thumb....seen above.

Then she was out. When I pulled in the garage, Jeff came and got Samantha out of the car and she went straight to bed, before 7 PM mind you. She was one whipped little girl.

Memorial Day 2011

This morning when Samantha woke up, we had breakfast and headed right out to the park. By 9 AM it was already over 80 degrees outside. Samantha loves going over to the park and is learning that she has to hold Mommy and Daddy's hands to cross the street.

She loves climbing....but she still needs a little help, which is where Daddy steps in.

Checking out the whole world from the top of the tower.

She gets so proud of herself when she does something all by herself...like climb the rope ladder.

Going down the ramp...counting each step...and jumping off at the bottom!

After our morning at the park we headed over to Jim and Libs for a cookout. We got there early to socialize because we knew we would have to leave no later than 12:30 PM. (Samantha runs on clockwork...she always naps at 12:30 PM) Samantha really enjoyed walking out in the garden while Pa, Pawpaw and Uncle Larry were tilling the ground. Maybe she will be a little country girl afterall. After eating, we got the sprinkler out and Samantha took a little time warming up to it. But after a little while she would say, "Ready. Set. Go" and run thru. She also wanted everyone else to go thru the water with her..."Mommy's turn!" "Daddy's turn" so we all ended up leaving wet!

Samantha fell asleep in the car on the way home from Jim and Lib's and slept until 4 PM. Jeff and I were in the living room hanging pictures up and I said to Jeff I thought I heard her door knob jiggling. He said it had to be the wind from the fan. So I went upstairs and opened her door, without even taking a step in her room, I said, come on out and show Daddy what you did. And she trotted right on out! So Jeff came upstairs and we put her in her crib and asked her to do it again....in less than 30 seconds she was back out of her crib. We are going to have to come up with a creative way of keeping her in her crib. We are not ready for her to be mobile at night!!! I digress... After Samantha woke up, we headed over to Nick and Mandy's for another cookout. After eating we got the sprinkler out again. The pictures ended up a little blurry but Samantha is the one in the white shirt.

After running thru the sprinkler earlier this morning, she quickly started running thru the water.

Since Grady was naked...Samantha wanted to be naked too. Then she learned that she could pick up the sprinkler and spray the boys, which everyone thought was hilarious.

Over all we had a WONDERFUL time today spending time with our families!!! Life is good.

Good Morning Mommy pictures from last week.

Most of these pictures were taken the last few days we lived at our old house and then one is at he new house. Samantha has been such a happy girl in the mornings lately and I have been getting some great Good Morning Mommy pictures.

Good Morning Mommy Pictures from today.

Yesterday Samantha did not want to take a nap in her new bedroom. She was too excited to explore her new house to sleep. So last night when she finally laid down she was whipped. Even though she was in bed by 8 PM she did not want to wake up this morning.

Jeff said it took her awhile to wake all the way up but from the look of this picture she was happy before she left the house.

She loves watching Elmo in her Daddy's car. It is their morning tradition. And now that her morning commute is 5 minutes longer she gets to watch more of her beloved Sesame Street!

Sleepover!

Last Sunday we picked Samantha up from my In-Law(s). She spent the whole weekend with her Mawmaw and Pawpaw while Jeff and I started the moving process. When she got home she was just whipped from all the playing I am sure. So she ended up taking a monster nap. We had to wake her up @ 5:30 PM just so she would be able to go back to sleep at night. But at 9 PM she was still wide awake and wanting to play. So we brought her into bed with us and hoped that she would fall asleep and we could transfer her back into her crib. But every time I would turn off my lamp she would say, "Turn on the light Mommy". So it ended up just being 45 minutes of play time in our bed when Jeff finally moved her back into her crib. And she actually went right to sleep. What a crazy night....but Jeff was able to get a cute picture of Samantha and I during our 45 minute sleepover!
